Brian Klemesrud is an award-winning independent film and commercial director in Chicago, IL.


Klemesrud’s independent film Dead Draw, which he wrote, directed and produced for a budget of $283K has grossed over $1.2 M dollars to date. Distributed by Showtime, Redbox and 20th Century Fox, Dead Draw's investors recouped an ROI of 1.42 and counting.


In addition Dead Draw also toured the festival circuit where it won the Best Of Fest at SOHO in New York and the Audience Choice Award at San Diego International Film Festival and was nominated for several awards nationwide.


Commercially, Klemesrud has directed over 800 commercials and is a premiere director of political advertising with the Democratic party. Most recently he’s worked with Tim Ryan, Mandela Barnes and Barbara Lee. In 2020 Klemesrud helmed a 94-million dollar ad campaign for U.S. Senator Mark Kelly, flipping the state from red to blue for the first time in over 10 years.


Klemesrud is currently in pre-production for his next feature film Dogface with his production company Getaway Plane. A sci-fi horror thriller, It's Okay Go Back To Sleep tells the story of a brilliant neuroscientist who suffers from sleep paralysis who goes to extreme lengths to test his controversial device that could either reverse paralysis or kill the patient.


He is currently represented by Luber/Roklin Entertainment.
